Day retreat
Our annual day retreat is put on by our Education Vice President Chairwoman. The EVP then gets to plan a whole afternoon of bonding activities to help integrate the new moons into the chapter, as they are welcomed in after Bid Day.
Overnight
One of the most beloved Gamma Phi Beta traditions at Sonoma State is our overnight retreat. This is a cherished tradition where all members of the chapter get to have intimate bonding experiences with each other away from school. In the past we have had overnight in Tahoe, Shasta Lake, and Alliance Redwoods. The point of retreat is to get to know all of our sisters on a more personal level and strengthen the bonds of our sisterhood. Being able to room with sisters you wouldn't normally spend time with, sharing dinner, and participating in activities are some of the enjoyed parts of overnight.
wishing for beta
This year was our 2nd annual Wishing for Beta event in which we honor, Katie Combs, our recruitment advisor that passed away in 2017. We celebrate her by having a bounce house, selling Gamma Phi Beta t-shirt’s and send off balloons with wishes on them to her at the end of the event! All proceeds that we make from T shirt sales are then donated to a different organization each year. This past year we decided to choose Make A Wish Foundation. Feel free to come next year and stop by our table and buy a shirt, bounce, or hangout with us!
formal
lip jam participation
AGD's annual Lip Jam dance competition. All Greek organizations are asked to participate in Lip Jam to help AGD in their fight to end hunger. All proceeds go to benefit their foundation of choice.
Big/ Little
The big and little process is one of our most cherished bonding experiences as a chapter. In Gamma Phi Beta, we work to give our new members the utmost support in finding their perfect match as a big and little duo. The Big & Little process is simply an arrangement of crescent sister dates where you connect with sisters from older pledge classes to seek out who you connect with the most. Every single new member receives a big, and the family lineage grows each year as the process continues.
